Marine Band Grounded6/2/2013 The New Orleans Marine Band performance at the Sturgis Falls Celebration has been cancelled due the fiscal sequester. They will be replaced by the Iowa Military Veterans Band. The group is composed of veterans who served on extended duty in any branch and are accomplished musicians. The band's primary mission is to support Iowa military veterans, their organizations, and to honor national holidays.
They will perform on the Overman Park Band Shell Stage on Saturday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m.
The Board of Directors hopes you will help us welcome the Iowa Military Veterans Band to Cedar Falls and the Sturgis Falls Celebration!
Filling the vacancy left by the Marine Jazz Band are the Hoodads. They will perform on Saturday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. on the Band Shell Stage.
Rent a Tent at Sturgis6/2/2013 New to Sturgis Falls Celebration for 2013 is a tent rental opportunity for Class Reunions, Businesses or Groups. It will be located in Gateway Park during SFC weekend, June 27 - 30. The 40' X 40' tent will be in a fenced off area and includes a bar, porta potties, picnic tables, and VIP parking passes.
The new tent is in addition to the popular Sky Box Suite, which is still available for rent Saturday, June 29 from Noon to 5:00 p.m.

SFC Looking for Part-time Help6/2/2013 Help is needed for set-up, teardown, and event days of Sturgis Falls. The pay rate is $10.00/hour starting June 8 to July 3, 2013. Many of these weeks could be over 30 hours. Interested persons should be able to lift over 50 pounds, be physically fit, and able to work with others as a team. Talent Competition Update5/5/2013
Registrations must be recieved by Wednesday, June 12, 2013 to participate in the preliminary audition. Please note - The Sturgis Falls Celebration Board of Directors will no longer allow video auditions.
Preliminaries will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Lincoln Elementary School, 321 W. 8th Street, Cedar Falls.
Sprout auditions will be held from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., followed by Seniors from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m.

Gateway Park Updates3/23/2013 With the Carnival moving to the west end of Gateway Park this year, the Gateway Vendor Market will be located between the Carnival and the Gateway Stage. This new location will promote great pedestrian flow for the Vendors.
New to Gateway Park will be the Varied Industries area. It will be located on each side of Greeley Street, which is a "pedestrian only" street, linking visitors to the vast amount of free parking off of Lincoln Street.
The Gateway Vendor Market and Gateway Varied Industries are exciting opportunities for area businesses and organizations.

2013 Scholarship Recipients Announced3/23/2013 Sturgis Falls Celebration is pleased to announce the three recipients of the 2013 SFC Scholarships. The $1500 scholarships will be applied toward the first semester of their college education.
Congratulations to:
Gabe Gedlinske (CFHS), son of Brian and Jean Gedlinske of Cedar Falls,
Hannah Mallaro (CFHS), daughter of Mike and Theresa Mallaro of Cedar Falls, and
Courtney Richman (Waterloo West), daughter of Brett and Kendra Richman of Waterloo.
The graduating seniors will be honored during the Sturgis Falls Celebration, June 27-30, 2013. On Friday, June 28, they will be introduced at the Opening Ceremony in Overman Park. Then on Saturday, June 29, they will ride in the dignitary procession prior to the Sturgis Falls Parade.

Entertainment formerly located in Tourist Park moved to Gateway Park in 2012.
This change provided abundant parking, more food vendors, a larger area to enjoy the bands, and the new 40' Jumbotron for better viewing of the stage.
It is located on Lincoln Street, one block northeast of 1st & Main Streets.
In preparation for the 2012 Sturgis Falls Celebration, and other events, Gateway Park is now WiFi compatible.
