The Board of Directors of the Sturgis Falls Celebration has selected the theme, "Mardi Gras at the Falls" to mark the 2012 Sturgis Falls Celebration to be held June 21-24.
Original artwork is currently being accepted for the theme design. All amateur and professional artists are encouraged to submit their own original creation. Each artist may submit more than one design.
To qualify, designs need to meet the following guidelines:
- Be original and exclusive
- Painted or drawn submissions must be scanned into the computer and put onto readable media.
- High-resolution PDF with embedded font and image files are prefered and remember to pull the bleeds.
- Use only EPS or TIFF file formats for images because they must be 300 dpi for grayscale
- Scan close to the original size and manipulate size +25% or -25% used in your layout program to ensure the best possible reproduction.
- Images should be saved as CMYK and not RGB format.
- Preferred computer applications are: Adobe Acrobat,Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign; QuarkXpress.
- If you have orignals from Pagemaker, Freehand, Publisher or Microsoft Word you must supply as a PDF
- Submit an 18" x 24" poster and a readable Media(such as CD,ZIP disk, DVD, USB Thumbdrive,or Memory Stick)with the artwork files.
- Artwork must reflect the the following:
- 2012 theme, "Mardi Gras at the Falls"
- Sturgis Falls Celebration
- 37th Anniversary
- Sturgis Falls Celebration logo
- Dates June 21-24, 2012
- Cedar Falls, Iowa.

All submissions become the property of the Sturgis Falls Celebration, Inc. The chosen artwork may be altered to facilitate reproduction in the various media used to promote the celebration, the artist's original intent and effort will be maintained.
An honorarium of $400 is awarded to the artist whose design is selected to promote the 2012 Celebration. The selected artwork will be featured on all promotional material for the Sturgis Falls Celebration including (but not limited to) programs, posters and tee shirts.
The Sturgis Falls Celebration committee will accept artwork until 5:00 pm on October 31, 2011.
