Bill Riley Talent Search at Sturgis Falls Update

4/9/2017  The Bill Riley Talent Search held at the Sturgis Falls Celebration will align their talent search application and performance guidelines to the Iowa State Fair Bill Riley Talent Search.

Registrations will be accepted beginning Thursday, April 20, 2017. Ten Sprout spots and ten Senior spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants who have already qualified for the Iowa State Fair will be considered in the order they are received if the twenty spots are not filled by Monday, May 1, 2017.

Sturgis Falls Talent Search coordinator, Sandy McDonald, supports the process which removes the preliminary auditions. Additionally, the prize money for winners will reflect the Bill Riley Talent Search guidelines. The award amounts for the Sprout division 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be $50, $25, and $15. The Senior division 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be $100, $50, and $25.

Schedule Change - Car Show

2/15/2017  The Sturgis Falls Celebration Board announces that the 2017 annual car show will be suspended as the Board continues to seek another lead organization to coordinate and manage the car show event.

For the past 10 years the PIPAC organization, assisted by the Cedar Valley Jeep Owners club, has managed the Car Show for Sturgis Falls. In November 2016, both organizations announced their retirement from the Car Show coordination. The Sturgis Falls Board greatly appreciates the years of service to the Car Show by PIPAC and CV Jeep Owners.

“We knew the timing to transition another organization to manage the Car Show was crucial”, said Jay Stoddard, Board President. “When you have the potential for 300+ cars with 66 categories to coordinate, review, vote and award in one day, the process is daunting. We (the Board) are confident that an organization will step forward to continue the tradition.”

The 42nd Annual Celebration, themed: Let the Bands Play On, begins Friday, June 23 and closes on Sunday, June 25.

This change provided abundant parking, more food vendors, a larger area to enjoy the bands, and the new 40' Jumbotron for better viewing of the stage. The Carnival and Gateway Vendor Market are also located in Gateway Park.

It is located on Lincoln Street, one block northeast of 1st & Main Streets.

Gateway Park is WiFi compatible.
